When I started my interest in video editing, a good way to exercise was to create my own version for the trailer of various series. Sometime I still do this kind of works because is funny, relaxing and permits me to test different workflows, new plug-ins or software (mostly Final Cut Pro 7 & X).
An anecdote: I got the job in Seminal film thanks to these fantrailers.
